Great Blue Ray Laptop related products!

Posted by admin as Blue Ray Laptop

Today I want to share two extrodinary products I have come across with you. Both are absolutely related to our passion of Blue Ray Laptops, so I hope you will enjoy reading about (and maybe even buying!) them.

The first gadget I want to talk about is an Blue Ray Drive by HP. As there are still few machines out there that deserve the title “Blue Ray Laptop” this drive comes in very handy. It plays Blue Rays and also burns standard DVDs, DL-DVDs and of course CDs. You can swap it quite easily with your existing drive yourself or have it swaped by the computer store of your choice.

The price tag reads $89.90, a reasonable price for the great visual outcome.

What you may also need is the second product of todays article:

Corel’s “WinDVD 9 Plus”

This program might be useful, if you don’t have a media software that can play Blue Ray installed already. This little alround wiz plays about every video codec you can imagine and should really give you some nice pictures. It also provides sophisticated audio features, for the audio geeks among us.

I hope you check these products out and let me know if you buy them. Would love to hear what you think about their performance.

Talking the Vaio TT

Posted by admin as Blue Ray Laptop

The Sony Vaio TT isn’t a new laptop and its not new that its a Blue Ray Laptop either. However, that doen’t change the fact that it’s incredible good device (well…and pricy).
In the last couple of days I read a bunch of articles about it and man am I frustrated that I havn’t got the money to buy one.
Anyways, you (or some of you) might have the money, so I will give you a quick overview of the features and aggregate the reviews I read.

Here we go:

As mentioned earlier, the VAIO TT is a Blue Ray Laptop.
I’ve written earlier about the criterias a good Blue Ray Laptop should meet to be of real use to you.
The VAIO TT meets them in full, let me say that.
It plays (and burns!) Blue Rays and has an HDMI port.
This comes in handy, as the screen resolution is not a 1920×1080.
However, the LED-backlit display is said to be amazing, making the only reason to argue about the (understandably) not so perfect speakers. But I think it should be clear that you can’t ask for Bowers&Wilkins quality in a ultra-portable Blue Ray Laptop, right?
Just use some decent headphones (that’s not you iPod ones….).
Another point I mentioned in an earlier post is the battery capacity. CNET statet in their review, wich you can find here, that the VAIO TT was capable of nearly 4 hours of videoplayback. Not bad, I’d say.
So, from an entertainment point of view the Sony VAIO TT seems like an almost perfect Blue Ray Laptop.
But recognize the almost. Because the one point that slaps me in the face everytime, is the price tag. I bet if I have to see it one more time, I’ll get a black eye.
But hey, what’s life without getting beaten up, eh?
So here it comes, the apocalyptic, rezession-neglecting price tag of doom:
$2,699.00 at Amazon.com. Halleluja!
Well, if you consider buying it anyways, follow this link and drop me a note, so I can cry myself to sleep in endless envy.

Entering a new Blue Ray Laptop and some buying advice

Posted by admin as Blue Ray Laptop

Just a few days ago well known Dell put out a neat thing to play with:

The Dell 14z.
This nice retro-colored Blue Ray Laptop ships at the moment for 649$ up.
As I am writing this you can’t get it from Amazon, but I’ll keep you posted.
Fortunately the Dell 14z is capable of Blue Ray (as an option). And more so, it has a HDMI port, wich is a really important thing, as T.J. Aaron from LaptopLogic.com points out on weslytech.com.

Here his list of Blue Ray Laptop Pro’s:
· Plays most types of optical media
· Watch Blu-ray movies on the go
· Output Blu-ray to external displays & TVs
· Burn high capacity Blu-ray discs (with a burner)

As Con’s he points out that on some Blue Ray Laptops the displays are not HD capable and the lack a decent output to HDTVs.
As mentioned above, the Dell 14z has both. But if you don’t like the Dell, its fine. But make sure the Blue Ray Laptop of your choice has what you need. A decent screen and/or output are key features!

engadget.com has postet a hands-on, wich you find here: hands-on

Blue Ray Laptop

Posted by admin as Blue Ray Laptop

Currently the market for Blue Ray Laptops is still relatively small, which is essentially a very good thing. It gives us the opportunity to digg deep in all the products that are out there and easily find what suits us best.

However, if you consider to buy a Blue Ray Laptop, you still have a whole lot of options. At this time there are several models in the market, from 17″ widescreen laptops to light-weight Blue Ray Netbooks.
Two large players in the market right now are Sony and Dell. Being well recognised in the market as very innovative and having a rather huge market share, these corporations are willing to push the boundaries and giving custumers a portable HD experience they never had.

So whats in it for us?
Well, I for my part love to travel. And I love high definition videos.
So a Blue Ray Laptop lets me enjoy both at the same time. Imagine sitting in a plane or train, even a Greyhound, and watching your favourite movie in full HD! To me this sound like the first part of heaven.

One of the best Blue Ray Laptops I have come across so far is the Sony VAIO VGN-FW139E.
This awsome Laptop gets a 4 1/2 Star ranking on Amazon right now and a very good review on Notebookreview.com.
An excerpt:
“The VAIO FW’s CPU and FSB speed, 3GB of RAM, and Radeon GPU are a wonderful combo for mobile power. The aspect ratio of the screen is perfect for entertainment. The build quality is fantastic; Sony does not deliver anything but their best in hardware. “

If anyone of you has this nice looking piece of Blue Ray Laptop, leave me a comment and tell me if you like it!
